Violence on Cartoon Shows #5

Parents play a vital role in moulding a child’s character.  True discipline and behaviour control is part of parent’s responsibility in bringing their children in the way he should go.

Recent research studies have found out that even a child’s activity may have an effect on his character formation. Thus, even watching cartoon shows must be controlled by parents.

In our modern age today, cartoon shows, internet games, and television is part of a child’s play activity.  Yet, parents failed to supervise the content and television viewing time of their children.
Parents even failed to realize the damage that violent cartoon shows may cause the young minds of their children.

I have watched television shows in my entire life. And from my own perspective, there are some violent cartoon shows  that has affected me in a way that children does.  Watching “Happy Tree Friends” for example portrays characters that show gruesome, bizarre, aggressive personalities among the three main characters. Even after watching the show, I could not help but be affected by their brutal characterizations. This show must not be watched by young children.

These kinds of shows must not be watched by young children because they could imitate it.

Parental guidance is strictly recommended.

How to save a life and be a HERO? (A blog about a friend's blog) #4

Jon Michael Danao, my friend and classmate, chose the song "Hero" by Enrique Eglesias.

For me, the song "Hero" is very dramatic. Everybody wants to be a hero even in his/her own special ways.

But Jon's situation is different and very emotional. I could imagine the song "How to save a life by The Fray" playing in the background while I was reading his blog post. I got touched. It struck me. If I were in his shoes, I also wanted to save a life and be called a hero. It's difficult to see someone die in front of you especially if the person is your loved one. It's as if you wanted so much to go back to that moment and rewrite reality. I can feel Jon's pain when he lost his brother in front of him, I can feel how his conscience killed him, I can feel how he grieved for his little brother. May the soul of Jon's little brother rest in peace.

But then again, Jon's brother is still alive in each of his family member's hearts. Like what I've said in my other post, "Death is inevitable but the memory, like the wind, hugs to your senses." Even if Jon haven't saved his brother, he will still be called a hero in his own little way.

The wind blows #3

Nicholas Sparks once said in one of his novels that "Love is like the wind. I can't see it, but I can feel it"I just love how he compares love to the wind.

Speaking of love and wind, the song "The wind blows" comes into my mind. It is one of my favorites. I love the song even if I couldn't relate to the meaning of it. I just love how the instrumentals suit what the lyrics are trying to say. It is so dramatic. I also love the band who sung it (The All-American Rejects). They're just so amazing, I mean all of their songs. But most especially, the very reason why I love "The wind blows" is because of its music video. The music video is just so full of love at first but will eventually have a bittersweet ending. I love how wonderful the cinematography of the video is. Overall, the song is awesome.

To me, the song has something to do with a relationship that was eventually going to end - a bittersweet ending that is. Going through all the good times, there were also some hard times. The girl can't take it anymore and asks him to go. He has a hard times doing this but she will always be in his memory (like the wind) . He thinks she will definitely regret this because of all the love they had. The wind(which is the guy) will always be apart of her. She has to breath so she has a part of him forever.

The song is not only applicable in intimate relationships (like in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship), it can also be dedicated to those people who just lost their loved ones (e.g., family member, friend, etc.) physically. It is sad when the people you love will long be departed from you. Death is inevitable but the memory, like the wind, hugs to your senses.

The wind is everywhere and we need it in order to live, just like love.

Here's a video of the song in which I'm talking about:
